Gastroenterologist Michael Uzer, MD, has 21 years experience in advanced endoscopic procedures to diagnose and treat gastrointestinal diseases. He recently joined Alexis Ayonote, MD, FACP, in providing gastroenterology services at Sarah Bush Lincoln.
Dr. Uzer received his internal medicine training from Northwestern Memorial Hospital and his gastroenterology fellowship from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He completed additional fellowship training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy from Indiana University Medical Center. He served as Director of Endoscopy at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center for six years before going into private practice in the Chicago area.
Dr. Uzer specializes in performing endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatograpy (ERCP), a procedure used to diagnose diseases of the gallbladder, biliary system, pancreas and liver. He looks forward to establishing relationships and providing compassionate care to people at Sarah Bush Lincoln. His mission is simply to help those who are sick get better and to prevent others from getting sick through proactive screenings such as colonoscopy.
