Washington Savings Bank held its annual “Give a Heart” fundraiser duringthe entire month of February to raise heart health awareness. Paper hearts were sold at the Mattoon and Effingham bank locations for $1 each. A total of 225 hearts were sold. The bank then matched the number of hearts sold for a combined donation of $550 to support the Sarah Bush Lincoln Heart Center.

“Sarah Bush Lincoln is an important resource for our community, and we love being able to support it through our fundraisers,” Emily Strader, branch manager, explained.

The Sarah Bush Lincoln Heart Center will use the funds to help those who struggle to pay for costs associated with treatment.
