Ginger Ale’s of Mattoon recently donated $342.35 to the Sarah Bush Lincoln Regional Cancer Center.
Ryan Smith, mixologist and master shift leader at Ginger Ale’s, said the donation is the sum of tips the staff received during June.
Smith said she often does research to determine to which local organizations Ginger Ale’s can donate. During research earlier this year, she decided the SBL Regional Cancer Center would be a great place to direct a donation. “We want to help as many people as possible, and we know that a lot of people receive care there,” she said.
Smith said the Ginger Ale’s staff is happy to help people in the community. “It makes us all feel really good to give back,” she added.
