SBL Hospice Volunteer Training Classes Available

Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospice is hosting two in-person volunteer training classes.

The course is required for anyone wishing to volunteer through hospice. The first class will last from 9 am to 4 pm on Friday, July 12, at the SBL Willow Breeze Hospice House. A second class will be held, 9 am to 4 pm, on Friday, August 9, at Willow Breeze Hospice House. Volunteers only need to attend one of the classes.

There is also an option to take the volunteer class online. The online class is available 24/7, year-round.

The class will cover: History and philosophy of hospice; the role of the volunteer; family dynamics; communications; spiritual care; psychological issues; clinical issues surrounding the terminal illness; pain control; and grieving and bereavement.
